Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ The Teenage Cancer Trust are the only charity dedicated to making this happen.
The charity provides specialist units within NHS hospitals that bring young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. The unit’s home-from-home feel helps create a sense of normality containing social areas with pool tables, comfy sofas, music, laptops, internet access and televisions. The specialist team and care, combined with the bright and vibrant design, aim to give young people with cancer the very best quality of life and support.

The Teenage Cancer Trust also fund specialist nurses and youth support coordinators across the country. Experts in teenage and young adult cancer care, they provide clinical support and expertise, develop services and research, deliver professional education and training and also represent and advocate nationally and internationally on behalf of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Teenage Cancer Trust aims to reach every young person with cancer by 2020 so that all young people with cancer have access to the dedicated, specialist support they provide.

In the East Midlands we have 3 Teenage Cancer Trust Units across the region;
