Welcome to Nottingham Children’s Hospital Teenage Cancer Trust Unit

The Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Queens Medical Centre is located within Nottingham Children’s Hospital on Ward E39. The unit provides care for young people aged 13 - 18 with cancer. It is one of many Teenage Cancer Trust units around the country which provide specialist care and facilities for young people.  

Accommodation:

There are 5 beds on the unit consisting of 2 single ensuite bedrooms plus a three bed bay with a wet room. The bedrooms are equipped with television and x-box, bespoke furniture, soft furnishings and notice boards. There is also dedicated free Wi-Fi connectivity across the unit as well as access to laptops if required. There is a facility for one person to stay overnight with you. There is also a shared parents/family kitchen.

Day Care Facility

When attending day care you are welcome to use the facilities in social zone.

Social Areas:

Social areas are provided for young people who are patients. Family and friends may use these spaces only when accompanying the patient.

The Social Zone is equipped with soft furnishings, a large plasma 3D screen TV, satellite TV, blu-ray DVD, jukebox, pool table and multiple games consoles. There is a supply of regularly updated films and games. Crafts and musical instruments are also situated in this room. The beverage area contains a microwave and drinks cooler.

Complementary Therapy Room 

There is a complementary therapy nurse specialist who works within Nottingham Children’s Hospital. If you would like more information then please ask a member of staff.

The quiet room is a quiet space with soft furnishings where you can chat, read or just chill-out.
