Support Services that can help

There are charities that we work directly with that provide funded staff within the TYA Service who you will come into contact with regularly like Teenage Cancer Trust, Macmillan and CLIC Sargent .

However there are many charities that can offer you support as a young person with cancer;

MOVE provide practical and online support to people living with and beyond cancer. We focus our services on children and young people living with and beyond cancer and also a wider age range through our new 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer initiative linked to parkrun.

Through sailing and other UK-wide adventure activities, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust supports, inspires and empowers young people aged 8-24 to embrace their future with optimism after treatment for cancer.

Young people build confidence by making friends with others who have had similar experiences - often for the first time - rediscovering independence away from home and learning new skills. Most importantly, they stop feeling like the ‘only one’.

Maggies

Maggie’s offers the best possible support free to anyone with cancer and their families who walk through our doors. You'll find our centres alongside NHS hospitals and they can also support you online. The Maggie's Centre in the East Midlands is at Nottingham City Hospital.
